This Sony S-Series Walkman only available in black colour. Glossy black border are full around the player. A circular five-way control pad and two function buttons (back/home and option/off) are at the front face. Two favorite controls: a dedicated volume rocker and a hold switch are at the right side. A USB port, a noise-cancellation switch, and a semi-standard 3.5mm headphone jack line are at the bottom. It offers rich quality of sound with deep bass. Custom’s EQs help in improving sound quality. It’s display has great quality showing clear pics but not good enough for movies.
The main menu is controlled into an attractive three-by-three icon grid. Music is organized by ID3 tags (sorted by artist, album, playlist, and so on), or used the folder navigation. The Walkman supports MP3, WMA (including subscription), and unprotected AAC files for music, JPEG photos (and slide shows), and MPEG 4 and 4V video. SenseMe Channels can analyzes songs to create playlists, but it can not groups them in pre-defined categories.
Several features that are available in this Sony S-Series Walkman, such as : excellent-sounding FM radio with an autoscan mode and up to 30 preset slots, able to remember where last left off in a file, Simply Content Transfer that allows users to drag-and-drop podcasts and other media directly from the iTunes interface, transfer content from anyplace else on hard drive, use a jukebox such as Windows Media Player to manage content.
The S-Series aboards in a few useful music-oriented extras. First is the Intelligent Shuffle function, which creates specialized listening experiences based on the year a song was released. A veritable smorgasbord of sound enhancement options, including two user-customizable EQs. The noise-cancellation feature, hence the aforementioned semi-standard headphone jack.
