The Sony Ericsson C902 is designed in four colors of candy bar, such as red, bronze, silver, and black. Its measures is 1.9 in x 0.4 in x 4.3 in (WxDxH) and 3.8 oz weight. The trade off feels comfortable and it has a solid feel in the hand. Its 2.1 inch display supports 262,144 colors (320×240 pixels). Unfortunately we only can change the brightness.

The navigation array below the display are a square toggle with a central OK button, two soft keys, Talk and End/power buttons, a shortcut control, and a clear key. The keypad buttons are designed too cramped, even it’s already been raised above the surface and has a tactile feel. The backlighting was not too light.

A volume rocker and a camera shutter key are placed on the left side.. The rocker is placed on the bottom end of the phone. The port USB cable, the charger and wired headsets are placed on the right side. A Memory Stick Micro slot is placed behind the battery cover. The lens, flash, and self-portrait mirror show up when the phone’s back slide splits apart. A single speaker is placed on the C902′s rear face.

Standard personal management features are a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, a calendar, a task list, a notepad, a timer, a stopwatch, an alarm clock, a calculator, and a speakerphone. It also has full Bluetooth with a stereo profile and remote control options, PC syncing, a file manager, USB mass storage, integrated GPS, POP3 e-mail, and a code memo for storing sensitive information.

The 5 megapixel camera has many settings, such as options of scene, changing the shooting mode, disabling the flash, activating the self-timer, selecting the focus detection, or changing to photo view mode. We can take pictures in four resolutions, from 5 megapixels down to simple VGA. Editing options are face detection, an autofocus, a macro setting, an infinite mode, a self timer, five white balance settings, an adjustable brightness meter, four color effects, two quality settings, a 16x digital zoom, an image stabilizer, Sony Ericsson’s BestPic feature, and four shutter sounds.

The scene settings include an auto mode, twilight landscape, landscape, portrait, beach/snow, sports, and document. The camcorder takes clips in one resolution with sound. Clips meant for multimedia messages are capped at 24 seconds. The Photo Fix feature helps to adjust color and light balance. The PhotoDJ and VideoDJ apps can be used to edit the work. There are more apps, such as Face Warp and Photo Mate applications.

Other available features are an FM radio, TrackID, and support for audio books and podcasts. Settings for the C902 are the variety of themes, wallpaper, screensavers, and clock styles. The animation wallpapers could deplete battery life. Call quality was quite good. The C902 supports EDGE and 3G service.
