Sony KDL-55XBR8 has a good deep black level with less blooming and off angle fade. It also has side mounted speakers that add a solid 3 inches to each side of the panel. The speakers are placed along the bottom and has some colors option, such as black, silver, red, brown, or gold. There is a glossy black frame surrounds the screen and a low profile stand adds to the wide look.

It measures is 58.7 x 5.8 x 31.6 inches (WxDxH) and 72.8 lbs weight. The remote control has a blue lighting and the buttons arrangements are too crowded. The XBR8’s menu has two selections for photo and music to be used with the USB port or a networked media server for photo.

This Sony really has a good picture quality, a superb black level and color accuracy, a cornucopia of video processing choices, and the best bright room picture quality.
