The Panasonic CF-52 is a truly tough rugged laptop, survive from many danger such as withstand drops of up to 2.5 feet on all six sides, and also tested for heat, altitude, dust, and vibration. It is designed with square-off silver-and-black design, built-in carrying handle, a rugged magnesium alloy chassis, a shock-mounted hard drive and screen, and a spill-proof keyboard tray. Parts of the Toughbook CF-52 adhere to the MIL-STD-810F standard.

The keyboard is designed too cramped with a small space bar, but it leaves plenty of room from the edge of the chassis on all sides, keeping the keyboard well-protected. The keyboard is only filled by keys, a fingerprint reader, the basic touch pad, and a rubberized power button. The large handle protrudes may get in the way while typing, but it’s very helpful for carrying the laptop.

The 15.4-inch wide-screen LCD display supports an excellent 1,920×1,200 native resolution, which provides for plenty of screen real estate or any group presentations. It comes aboard with the latest processors from Intel and discrete graphics from ATI.

It has both a PC Card and Express Card slot, the inclusion of 802.11n Wi-Fi technology and wireless broadband, but it doesn’t has the ubiquitous S-Video port. Almost all the ports and connections are protected behind snap-on covers, but not for the audio jacks and the power connection. The wide area wireless ready design allows to stay connected anywhere.
