The MSI X340 has a single core SU3500 processor and a superslim 13.4 inch display. It measures is 1.3 in x 8.8 in x 0.8 in (WxDxH), 2.9 lbs weight, 320-GB hard drive and 2 GB of RAM. The MSI X340 is designed with somewhat schizophrenic chassis, a glossy black lid and screen bezel, also a matte black keyboard tray and wrist rest. The keyboard totally feels cheap. Its keyboard has way too much flex, and the keys are mushy.
The 13.4 inch display supports a 1,366×768 pixel native resolution with 16:9 ratio. The display seems so clear and bright, but not glossy. It has 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus two USB ports, an SD card slot, and both VGA and HDMI output ports. The X340 is one of the first laptops to incorporate Intel’s CULV single-core 1.4GHz SU3500 CPU, which is based on Intel’s Core 2 Solo CPU. In single applications, such as Photoshop or iTunes, the system was much faster than Atom-powered Netbooks. Using a standard Core 2 Duo mainstream laptop will offer significantly better performance.

Flimsy keyboard feels cheap. It has a short battery life eventhough using a low-power system. The X340 is stuck with Intel’s integrated chipset
