The BlackBerry Pearl 8130 is designed very slim, sleek, attractive and lightweight. It measures is 2 in x 0.6 in x 4.2 in (WxDxH) and 3.4 oz weight. Some changes inside this Pearl 8130 compared with last editions are Pearl 8130 provides built in GPS, video recording capabilities, an improvement Web browser, EV-DO support, and 2 megapixel camera.
The 2.25 inch non touch screen display produces 65,536 colors with 260×240 pixel resolution. The display features a light-sensing technology that will automatically adjust the backlighting depend on the environment. A small LED is placed at the upper right corner of the Pearl which illuminates various colors for any status, such as a new messages, low battery, and more.
A few buttons and the SureType keyboard are placed under the display. The buttons are the Talk and End keys, a shortcut to the main menu page, a back button, and the trackball navigator. A 3.5mm headphone jack, a mini USB port, and a customizable quick launch button is placed on the left side. The microSD expansion slot is placed at the exterior of the phone. Other convenience key and the volume rocker are placed on the right side. A mute button, camera, flash and the self portrait mirror are located on the back side.
Voice features inside Pearl 8130 are a speakerphone, voice dialing and commands, conference calling, text and multimedia messaging, and call-audio enhancement. The Pearl supports MP3 and MIDI ringtones. Some wireless options are Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS. The Bluetooth are able for mono and stereo Bluetooth headsets, hands-free kits, and dial-up networking.




Some options for the camera are a 5x zoom, a flash, three picture sizes and three quality options. The settings are the white-balance settings and several color effects for the photos. Options for the video recording are two video formats (normal or multimedia message), three color effects, and a video light.
